Some of my earliest and fondest memories of childhood have revolved around being creative. A self taught artist, I did not pursue my passion until 1998 when I began painting murals throughout Central PA. By 2001 I had three children, so leaving home to go paint became difficult and less appealing.
This period of time is when my art evolved into painting oil on canvas.
My art started simply with warm, colorful oil still-life art, custom landscapes, and custom decorative art. After many busy years of successful displays in local galleries and shows, I found it necessary to put my paintbrushes down for several years to focus on my children and various ailing family members.
Recently, however, I’ve become re-inspired by other artists and new techniques, and so I began to seek out new mediums of expression. I began to create a style that is starkly different from my previous productions.
The best way to describe my new style is as a free-flowing expression utilizing cool colors rather than the warm autumn colors of my past work. The work comes from true innermost emotions brewing up inside; the cool bright colors ultimately pop off the canvas and make me feel alive.
I have thoroughly enjoyed exploring this new lively style and hope it emotes the same excitement in you that is brings to me.
